Artificial Intelligence Institute Certified AI Programs are now in Malaysia!

Associate Professor Dr. Ashley Ng Sok Choo

Associate Professor Dr. Ashley Ng Sok Choo received her bachelor and master's degrees in computer science in 2004 and 2007. She received her PhD in Smart Technology and Robotics Engineering in 2013. Her doctoral dissertation is integrating machine learning approach with ultrasound technology to detect and reconstruct internal defects of fiberglass composite materials in the context of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT). Her research areas are Artificial Intelligence, IoT, data mining and high-dimensional data analysis.She holds several registered intellectual properties including patents and copyrights for her research innovation. She is currently an associate professor of a higher education institution in Malaysia.

Apart from being active in teaching and research, she is also a trainer certified by Malaysia Human Resource Development Corporation. She was appointed as the corporate trainer for an education institution. She conducted various technical trainings mainly on Microsoft Excel, Word and Microsoft Project for the company's staff to support their different levels of management and administrative work. She has conducted short-term upskilling courses for vocational training institution teachers in Southeast Asia country.

Associate Professor Dr. Selvakumar Manickam

Dr. Selvakumar Manickam is a distinguished academic and researcher in computer science, specializing in cybersecurity and AI. He is widely recognized as a thought leader, with journalists frequently seeking his expertise on topics related to cybersecurity and AI. His outstanding research and dedication to pushing knowledge boundaries position him as a key figure in shaping the future of these fields. Beyond academia, Dr. Selva’s work holds the potential to transform industries and enhance lives worldwide. His contributions underscore his pivotal role in driving advancements in cybersecurity and AI.

Dr. Mohamed Harun bin Abdul Jabbar

Currently pursuing my Doctoral candidature with focus on Artificial Intelligence. I co-developed the Consolidated Strategy on 4th Industry Revolution for all Ten (10) ASEAN Member States for the ASEAN Secretariat Jakarta. An Adjunct Assoc. Professor and an Industrial Advisory Panel Member with Taylor’s University and Perdana University, a Board Member at USIM Tijarah Holdings S/B, Chairman of the Board at USIM Healthcare S/B. and an Advisor – Digital, Technology and Innovation with Nippon Koei Mobility S/B.

Involved in a Digital Transformation project for TM Digital Innovation Sdn. Bhd (TMDI) under TM Group, to establish an academy on Digital Transformation and technology training solutions. He is a Digital Transformation Director with SIRI Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned entity of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, which is being recognized as National Experts in Industry 4.0.

Former Director of Operations / COO with Yayasan Peneraju Pendidikan Bumiputera (formerly under the Prime Minister’s Department), managing the operations and implementation of training programs in Malaysia. Used to teach at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and conducted training programs in Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei. A regular Speaker at various seminars and conferences in Asia, Africa and Europe. Have Implemented projects for PETRONAS, TABUNG HAJI, Maybank, UMW, Malaysia Airlines, and others and also involved in providing IT Business Continuity Management for Malaysia Airlines during the MH370 and MH117 disasters.

Dr. Steven Loh

Steven is the head of LG Business Solutions managing Key account business and Government business of LG Electronics Malaysia. He leads the key accounts sales team in the country. This includes the full spectrum of end-to-end solutions on commercial products for large business implementations.

Being the lead for managing key accounts, customer centricity is the key success for Steven throughout his career. Steven wear the customer hats on what is the best solution to be given to the customer and create a winning situation for customer, Lenovo and the affiliates. Steven has over 20years experience in the IT industry.

Steven graduated in Tunku Abdul Rahman College in 2001 in BSc. In Science ( Physics ) , and further his studies in MBA and PhD in Business Administration.

Steven is also Malaysia Internet of Things Association Deputy Chairman. In the Association, Steven involved into collaboration with large enterprise, government agencies and education segment to create a better platform on IoT to Malaysia nations and students.

Before joining LG and Lenovo, Steven was the Country General Manager for AMD Malaysia & Singapore Commercial Business and also the team leader for AMD ASEAN commercial sales team. Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning is what AMD business direction moving into, powering by GPU and CPUs.

Steven is very much into supporting the Malaysia Education systems where he works closely with Ministry, Universities and K-12 to build a sustainable platform and blueprint of Malaysia education. Education transformation & Intelligence transformation is the keys business drivers in the current roles transforming the education systems and some other technologies via LG Electronics and Lenovo experienced. Using the technologies today for a better tomorrow for every educator.

Getting future graduates’ readiness is one action that can help the education growth in Malaysia. Guiding the future workforce readiness is definitely Steven’s passion. Education is fundamental to Development and Growth.

Dr. Guna Rethinam CMgr, FCMI, CIPD

Dr. Guna Rethinam is a distinguished leader and innovator in Human Resources, renowned for his expertise in Global Strategic HR, Organizational Design, and Digital HR Transformation. As a member of the CMI Malaysia Regional Board and an HRD Corp Certified Trainer, he is recognized for this exceptional ability to demystify complex comcepts and for his pioneering use of disruptive digital technologies across various business sectors.

Dr Guna has implemented 9 Robotic Process Automation solutions, 2 AI applications, and 1 Blockchain technology in HR, equipping the workforce with cutting-edge tools. His dedication to innovation is evident in his exploration of advanced work methodologies and his commitment to employee-centric strategies. Dr. Yoong Siew Wai

Dr. Yoong Siew Wai is an expert in technology ventures and consumer behavior, with experience across industries like FMCG, heavy industry, and technology. She holds a Ph.D. in Management from Universiti Putra Malaysia and has played a pivotal role in shaping Malaysia’s digital economy through initiatives like the National IoT Strategy and eCommerce Roadmap. Currently leading several national digital transformation efforts, Dr. Yoong drives innovation and growth at MIMOS Berhad.

Dr. Yoong Siew Wai is a seasoned leader in technology venture and investment, with a rich background in understanding consumer behavior across a diverse range of industries, including fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), heavy industry, and technology. Holding a Ph.D. in Management from Universiti Putra Malaysia, her expertise lies in business analysis, market research, and management consulting.

Dr. Yoong has significantly contributed to shaping Malaysia’s digital economy through her involvement in key national initiatives. She has been instrumental in developing the National IoT Strategy Roadmap and the National eCommerce Roadmap, which are critical components of Malaysia's Industry 4.0 strategy. Her work emphasizes the importance of integrating IoT, digital transformation, and eCommerce into the national economic framework. Dr. Yoong’s leadership extends to national policies and initiatives aimed at enhancing the digital infrastructure of Malaysia, such as the Industry 4WRD Policy, which focuses on making Malaysia a leader in digital economy and Industry 4.0 practices. Currently at MIMOS Berhad, she continues to drive strategic projects that support the country's digital economic growth, with a focus on fostering innovation and ensuring that Malaysia remains competitive in the global technology landscape
